Why buy this Mint State 70 2014-D National Baseball Hall of Fame Clad Half Dollar with a Cal Ripken Jr. Hall of Fame Label?
In 2014, the U.S. Mint struck their very first domed coins as commemoratives for the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This half dollar has a clad composition, it contains no silver. It has a brilliant uncirculated finish and it was struck at the Denver Mint. There were 176,446 of these minted.
Stunning baseball and glove design
An open baseball glove can be seen on the obverse. This fits perfectly with the shape of the coin since this side is concave. The date is displayed on the bottom of the glove.
The reverse, which is convex, features a baseball design. The Mint mark is to the left of the lower stitches. With the coin's shape this side really looks like a small baseball.
NGC Mint State 70
The coin itself was awarded the grade of Mint State 70. This grade is reserved for coins that have no imperfections
