The Austrian Gold Philharmonic is a renowned bullion coin series that originates from Austria. It was first introduced in 1989 by the Austrian Mint (Münze Österreich), one of the oldest mints in Europe with a rich history dating back over 800 years. One of the smallest coins in the series is the 1/10 oz gold coin, an option introduced in 1991.

Coin Highlights:

  • Arrives inside plastic flips or acrylic tubes of 20 coins!
  • 36th release of Austrian Gold Philharmonics!
  • Contains 1/10 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of 10 Euro backed by the federal government of Austria.
  • The obverse features the Great Pipe Organ at the Musikverein.
  • On the reverse are musical instruments.

Each of the 2024 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins offered here at JM Bullion comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins in the 1/10 oz weight are offered individually in plastic flips or by multiples of 20 coins in acrylic tubes.

Austrian Gold Philharmonics were introduced in 1989, with the Austrian Mint initially offering only 1 oz and 1/4 oz gold weights. In 1991, the first expansion in the series came in the form of these 1/10 oz gold coins. Originally, Gold Philharmonics had a face value in Austrian Schillings, but the advent of the Euro resulted in a change to the face values starting in 2002.

The obverse of the 2024 Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin comes with a depiction of the Great Pipe Organ. The Musikverein is home to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and was built in 1870. Since that time, three pipe organs have been installed in the building, with the Great Pipe Organ being the third. It was installed in the 1910s.

On the reverse side of 2024 1/10 oz Gold Philharmonic Coins, you will find an image of musical instruments. These instruments are meant to reflect many of the ones commonly used by members of the Vienna Philharmonic. The visual includes a cello in the central foreground and two violins on each side, with a bassoon, a harp, and a French horn in the background.
