2024 $5 1oz. Canadian Silver Maple Leaf, BU
- SKU: CSML524
- Categories: BULLION SILVER CANADIAN MAPLE LEAF
The 2024 release of the Canadian Maple Leaf bullion coins will go down as one of the most notable dates in recent history. Following the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, the Royal Canadian Mint continued its 2023 bullion series with Her Majesty’s effigy on the obverse. The 2024 release marks the first in the program’s history with a monarch other than Elizabeth II as her son, King Charles III, ascends to the obverse of Canadian coinage. As the first year of issue for the Canadian Maple series, 2024 is expected to bring a high demand! Call one of our Prestige Metals Exchange advisors today!

Each 2024 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin available here at JM Bullion comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins in this series are individually packaged in plastic flips. Multiples come in either protective tubes of 25 coins or Monster Boxes of 500 coins, with a total of 20 tubes inside the box.
Since its introduction in 1988, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf has only ever featured a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Late Majesty is the only monarch that generations of Canadians have known, but her passing in September 2022 means that her son Charles now reigns as King Charles III. The 2024 Maple Leaf Series is the first with a new bust of King Charles III.
The obverse side of the 2024 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin comes with an all-new bust of Charles III. The new British monarch is shown here in left-profile relief, a change in orientation from Her Late Majesty’s right-profile portrait. The switch in orientation from one monarch to the next is a British coining tradition that applies to Canadian coins as well.
On the reverse face of 2024 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Coin, you will find Walter Ott’s original design of the sugar maple leaf. Created for the Gold Maple Leaf in 1979, this naturalistic image of the maple leaf comes with a radial lines throughout the background field and a laser-engraved maple leaf privy along the bottom of the field.
