Beginning in 1982 with the release of gold bullion coins, the Chinese Panda Series is regarded as one of the most esteemed bullion coin collections worldwide. It encompasses five different gold weights and one silver weight. In a significant shift, the Chinese Mint became the first major sovereign mint to convert its bullion coin weights from Troy ounces to grams in 2016.

Though the 2025 design for the Chinese Panda Series focuses on the mother-cub relationship and socialization, this is one of the rare moments of socialization in a panda’s lifetime. The limited social interaction of pandas is likely an adaptation to their specialized bamboo-based diet and the need to conserve energy. Pandas spend up to 14 hours per day feeding on low-calorie bamboo, leaving little time or energy for complex social behaviors.

All 2025 3 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coins are available with a sealed plastic pouch and arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins in this series have featured unique designs of the Giant Panda each year, with only the 2002 issue offering a repeat design.
