Why buy?

The Burnished American Eagle program began in 2006 in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the American Eagle series. Silver Eagles were struck for 3 years before a brief intermission for 2009 and 2010 due to The Great Recession. Burnished Eagles have been struck with limited mintages every year since and only represent less than 1% of Uncirculated Silver Eagles since its inception. 2023 marks the 16th year of production at West Point for these beautiful satin-finished Eagles. Being that there is no mintage limit for this year, the US Mint could stop production at any time!

  • This 2023-W burnished American Silver Eagle is the 3 annual release of the Type-2 design.
  • Struck at the West Point Mint from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
  • $1 US Legal Tender
  • The coin's design features an anti-counterfeit reeded edge variation.
  • These coins bear the desirable First Day of Issue pedigree.
  • On our exclusive Prestige Treasurer Series label, these have been authentically hand signed by Anna Cabral!

An Iconic Design

Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed on the obverse walking towards the rising sun, while draped in the folds of the American flag. Inscribed 'LIBERTY,' '2023,' 'IN GOD WE TRUST' and the artist's monogram 'AW.' The timeless image initially appeared on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar designed by acclaimed sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.

Reverse: An eagle is depicted gripping an oak branch on the reverse, with its wings in a lifted position to slow its descent. Inscriptions include 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,' '1 OZ. FINE SILVER,' 'E PLURIBUS UNUM,' the 'W' Mint mark and 'ONE DOLLAR.' The Type-2 eagle landing image is credited to award-winning illustrator and U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Emily Damstra.
