2025 500 Yaun 30 Gram Chinese Gold Panda, BU

The Chinese Panda Series, launched in 1982 with gold bullion coins, stands out as one of the premier collections of bullion coins globally. This series includes five different gold weights and a single weight in silver. Notably, in 2016, the Chinese Mint made history by being the first significant sovereign mint to transition its bullion coins from Troy ounce measurements to grams.

A female panda gives birth to 1-3 cubs after a gestation period of around 4-5 months. Newborn pandas are tiny, helpless, and weigh only about 100-200 grams. The mother panda cares for her cubs intensively for the first 1-2 years of their lives, carrying them, nursing them, and protecting them from predators.

Obverse visuals on 2025 Chinese Gold Pandas include the static image for all Chinese Panda coins. This design captures the image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, the central building in the Temple of Heaven Complex. This image has been used on all versions of the Chinese Panda since 1982.

Reverse design elements on 2025 30 Gram Gold Panda Coins feature the new design for the 2025 release. This year’s image shows an adult panda seated on its backside in the foreground as it uses its paws to manipulate some bamboo. Nearby, a small cub playfully paws at the adult while another cub climbs on the rocks in the background.
