The Musikverein’s Great Pipe Organ has been a fixture on the obverse of these coins since the 1989 launch of the program. The Musikverein, the home concert hall of the Vienna Philharmonic, is itself an architectural and acoustic marvel. Opened in 1870, the building was designed by Theophil Hansen in the Neoclassical style. Its main concert hall, known as the Golden Hall (Großer Saal), is renowned for its exceptional acoustics and opulent décor, featuring gilded caryatids, intricate moldings, and crystal chandeliers.
All 2025 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins in this listing arrive individually in protective flips or come in plastic tubes of 20 coins for multiples. The 1/10 oz Gold Philharmonic was the first coin introduced after the 1989 debut of the 1 oz and 1/4 oz gold coins, with its debut coming in 1991.
On the obverse of 2025 Austrian Gold Philharmonics is a depiction of the Great Pipe Organ. The organ is located in the Golden Concert Hall, the main hall inside the Musikverein. This organ is the third such organ to be installed in the building. It was installed in 2011 and replaced the previous one that had been installed in 1907.
The reverse of 2025 1/10 oz Gold Philharmonic Coins comes with a series of musical instruments. The design includes a cello in the central foreground with two violins flanking it on either side. The background field includes a French horn, a bassoon, and a harp.
